Background
Glickman is the son of Rhoda Yura and Dan Glickman, the former Kansas Congressman, Secretary of Agriculture, and president of the MPAA. He was born in Detroit, Michigan and raised in Wichita, Kansas and Washington, District of Columbia While he was a child, his mother introduced him to directors Martin Scorsese and Woody Allen.
Education
Glickman graduated from Georgetown Day School in Washington, District of Columbia
Career
In 1987, and from the University of Michigan in 1991. He worked briefly for Home Box Office before enrolling in the University of Southern California"s School of Cinematic Arts in 1992, although he quit in 1993. Glickman began working in Hollywood when he convinced producer Joe Roth to give him an internship at Caravan Pictures after meeting him in an elevator at University of Southern California in 1993.
By 1997, Glickman was president of production at Caravan.
By 2002, he was president of production at Spyglass Entertainment. In 2003, he became president and partner at Spyglass.
Glickman was invited to join the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences in 2007. On February 2, 2011, Glickman was named president of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer"s film division.
His role at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer will include the oversight of development and production for all feature films, as well as helping to identify co-financing opportunities with other studios.
As producer, Glickman"s two great hits at the box office have been Rush Hour 2 which grossed $347,325,802 at the world wide box office, and The Tourist which grossed $278,346,189 at the worldwide box office, both off an estimated 100million dollar budget.
