Became life fellow of Harvard, 1650. Leading advocate of Halfway Covenant adopted by Synod of 1662 (most outstanding achievement). Published sermons A Discourse of the Glory to Which God Hath Called Believers by Jesus Christ, 1677.
Other writings include: Letter of Counsel, 1664, An Election Sermon, 1667, A Letter Concerning the Subjects of Baptism, 1675.
