Career
Club
On 28 May 2013, Thomas joined English team Worcester Warriors from the 2013-2014 season. He was soon made club captain for Worcester Warriors for the 2013-2014 season. On 23 January 2015, Thomas signed a new two-year contract extension with Worcester until the end of the 2016-2017 season.
International career
Thomas played for Wales at Under 16, Under 19 and Under 21 level
He made his international debut against Australia in 2003. He became noticed by many during the 2003 Rugby World Cup in the match against New Zealand.
Thomas was part of two Six Nations Grand Slams, in 2005 where he only started one of the matches, and in 2008 where he started every game. On 18 January 2010 he was named in the 35 man Wales national Squad for the 2010 Six Nations tournament.
He was named in the preliminary squad for the 2011 Rugby World Cup but was ultimately left out of the final squad.
In his appearances for Wales he has scored seven tries. In 2014, Thomas was diagnosed with epilepsy, which on further investigation was thought to be as a result of multiple head traumas, which had led to a degree of brain injury. On 15 September 2015, on medical advice Thomas announced his retirement from all forms of rugby.
