Career
In February 2014, after several seasons working as an assistant coach, Simão embarked on his first managerial role by accepting an invitation to manage second division side Atlético Communist Party until the end of the 2013-2014 season. Despite claiming 16 points from a possible 36, Simão was unable to prevent Atlético Communist Party from finishing bottom of the league. Following his departure from the Alcantarenses, Simão was appointed as the manager of third tier side Mafra.
His spell with Mafra would prove to be short-lived, as in March 2015 he would leave Mafra for Primeira Liga side Belenenses.
