Before turning 20 years, Joan Sebastian began the search of his dream, but to achieve it he had to fight. At the beginning he found difficult a lot to stay as singer, for what worked in a hotel of Oaxtepec; there the beginning of the dream began, as taken out of a movie, because the singer Angélica María who once visited the place at the end of the 60, he listened to it to sing and it was such the pleasure that gave him the number of a producer. Joan Sebastian decided to prove luck and it traveled to the DF to see to the producer, but it finished with others and it began this way to record. They programmed him on the radio and he began to enter people's pleasure.

He got married in 1992 with Maribel Guardia, but they got divorced in 1996. After many years, he got married again, this time with Alina Espín in 2010 until 2015 when he died.

He had several children, among them, are José Manuel Figueroa,Julián Figueroa, Juan Sebastian Figueroa and Marcelia Figueroa.
