Career
In the Negro leagues, he played for the New York Cubans from 1947 to 1948. Listed at 5" 10", 175 pounds, he batted and threw right-handed. He was also a boxing promoter during the 1980s.
In a three-season career, Santiago posted a 3–2 record with 29 strikeouts and a 4.66 European Research Area in 27 appearances, including five starts and 56.0 innings of work.
In 2003, Santiago was inducted into the Caribbean Baseball Hall of Fame.
