Background
Blanco, José Joaquín was born on March 19, 1951 in Federal District, Mexico. Greatly influenced by his great uncle, Aurelio Jimenez Patiño, teacher from Tulancingo, and by such leading intellectuals as José Vasconcelos, Carlos Fuentes, Octavio Paz and Carlos Monsivais.
Education
Primary studies in Tulancingo, Hidalgo and in Mexico City. Studies in literature from the School of Philosophy and Language, United Nations AM, 1970-1973, graduating with a degree in Hispanic Literature and Language, 1977.
Career
Researcher, National Institute of History and Anthropology, 1981. Member of the editorial boards of Siempre and Nexos. Collaborator of UnoMásUno.
