A freelance photographer 1946-60 and from 1967, Ehm previously taught at the State Graphic School in Prague (1934-46, 1960-67). From 1927 to 1934 he worked as a photographer in various Prague studios.
Ehm has won silver medals at the International Exhibition of Photography in Budapest (1958), at Bifota, Berlin (1958), at the International Exhibition in Poland (1956), and at the Exhibition of Professional Photographers in Prague (1938).
