In 1970 Josef was a fitter. Josef became a certified engineer of applied physics in 1985. In this year he became an engineer of biomedical technics.
Josef worked at Max Planck Institut für Polymerforschung in Mainz, Germany in 1985. He worked as an engineer at the Forschungszentrum Jülich. In 2000 he became a checkout engineer for all nuclear instruments at DIDO, FRM II at the research Jülich center. In four year he worked as an engineer to build up sample equipment and a SANS facility at DIDO research reactor at KFA, later "Forschungszentrum Jülich". In 2005 he became a founder of HarTech-Harings, physics for the house and home technics. In 2009 he became a founder of the "Wolkenwacht" project.
