Clarós is banned for life from the Canadian NBL after the brawl prior to Game 7 of the 2015 Finals. Following the brawl, Clarós refused to allow his team to play. This caused the Rainmen to forfeit the game and cost him a $9000 fine.
On March 27, 2015, Clarós, who was planning to coach the Egypt national basketball team at the 2015 International Basketball Federation Africa Championship and potentially the 2016 Summer Olympics, confirmed that he would not.
He said, "I wish them all the best for the next AfroBasket and African games with the goal to qualify for the Olympics in Rio 2016.".
