Vice president, general manager Koppers Construction Company, 1925-1931. President 1931-1936; vice president, general manager, engineering and construction division Koppers Company, Inc., 1936-1952, special adviser to management since 1952.

Member Iron and Steel Institute, American Gas Association. Clubs: Duquesne, Pittsburgh Field (Aspinwall, Pennsylvania). Inventor of Becker coke oven.
