Mr. Bodenmiller left that city about 1915 to take a position as draftsman in St. Louis with the office of the Frisco Railroad. After the close of the first World War (in which he served with the U. S. Army) he returned to St. Louis, and for a period of three years (1921-24) was employed with the architectural firm of Hoener, Baum & Froese. Later he was associated with John Wallace, architect for the St. Louis Zoological Garden, until 1928, for whom he designed the Monkey! Antelope, Bird and Snake Houses of the Zoo.
For the St. Louis Board of Education, Mr. Bodenmiller had charge of the work on the Technical High School, Teacher's College, fourteen Elementary Schools, and also directed the work of repairs, additions and alterations to school buildings in the city over a period of ten years.
