Conerty practiced as a partner of Kell, Nuelle & Loizzo, a law firm in Woodstock, Illinois. The firm was also written as Kelle, Nuelle, & Loizzo in some sources. Thomas Loizzo, who later became a Woodstock attorney, was a partner there after several years as an assistant state's attorney and left in 1997 to open his own firm.
Conerty's documented practice areas were general civil and trial practice, with probate, real estate, corporation, zoning, insurance law, and eminent domain. Probate involves the administration of estates after a death, real estate work covers property transactions, and eminent domain concerns government acquisition of private property for public use.
