Educated private schools, Rhode Island. Studied in school of drawing and painting, Museum of Fine Arts, Boston, and at Academie Julien, Paris.
Executed mural decorations in Public Library, Boston. Mural decorations on exterior of Horticultural Hall, Philadelphia (building since replaced by another, murals no longer exist). Work done in Italy, Egypt and Turkey, including copies made for Boston Museum Fine Arts of so-called “Alexander Sarcophagus” in Imperial Museum, Constantinople.
Received decoration of the III Order, Medijieh, from Sultan of Turkey.
Has taken active part in recent excavations in Egypt, in the Valley of the Kings at Luxor. Was present at the discovery of the tomb of the parents of Queen Tiy, 1904-1905, and of the tomb of the Queen, 1907.
Connected with field expedition of Harvard University and Museum of Fine Arts, Boston. Taught 3 years at school of Museum of Fine Arts, and at Harvard, 1903 and 1906.
Teacher painting technique in reproducing exact replicas of sculptured reliefs in tombs, temples of ancient Egypt to Egyptian graduates of Government Higher School Art, Cairo, 1946-1950.
Has painted in Japan, of Korea, Manchuria, China, Cambodia, Java, Southern India, Central America, Honduras, Yucatan and Persia. Has produced a number of pageants and masques.
