Became connected with Des Moines Register, 1904, resigned on account of ill health, 1910, and ranched and in coal mining business in New Mexico, until 1917.
Connected with the Burlington Hawk-Eye, since 1917, editor, publisher, 1927-1933. Editor and publisher of The Daily Hawk-Eye Gazette (consolidation), since 1933.
Postmaster Burlington, 1923, 1936. President board of trustees Burlington Library.
