Joy Elaine Davidson was American mezzo soprano. Named Outstanding Miami Artist at Orange Bowl; recipient Mastronardi endowed chair, 1995, National Institute for Staff and Organizational Development award for teaching excellence, 1996, Roberta Rymer Balfe award Florida Grand Opera. Member Philanthropic and Educational Organization, United Methodist Women, Sigma Alpha Iota, Zeta Tau Zeta.


Davidson, Joy Elaine was born on August 18, 1940 in Fort Collins, Colorado, United States. Daughter of Clarence Wayne and Jessie Ellen (Bogue) Ferguson.


Bachelor of Arts, Occidental College, Los Angeles, 1959;postgraduate, Florida State University, 1961-1964.
