Joyce Aboussie graduated from St. Louis University in 1979 with a B.A. in Political Science.
Joyce Aboussie is a professional businesswoman and entrepreneur who has founded two companies, Aboussie & Associates and Telephone Contact Inc. She has been recognized for her philanthropic efforts and contributions to St. Louis, Missouri, the city where she was born. While studying Political Science at St. Louis University, Aboussie began interning for Congressman Dick Gephardt. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts, she continued working with Gephardt for nearly 30 years. Aboussie ultimately advanced to serve as the National Political Director of Gephardt’s political organization until his retirement.
Aboussie has managed more than 500 political campaigns over the course of her career. She previously held the position of Missouri Transition Director for President-Elect Clinton, and subsequently served on the National Finance boards of Democratic Presidential Nominees Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Joe Biden, and Kamala Harris. Along with politics, Aboussie is exceptionally passionate about cancer research, and was the youngest person ever elected to the ALSAC/St. Jude Children's Research Hospital Board of Directors in 1983. She also became the first female Chairperson to sit on the organization’s board in 2006.
Aboussie’s many accomplishments have awarded her various titles and distinctions throughout her career. She was featured in the St. Louis Magazine Power List: “100 People Who Are Shaping St. Louis,” and was named one of the St. Louis Business Journal’s “Most Influential Business Women” in 2006. Aboussie was included in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch’s list of “25 Most Influential St. Louisans,” and continues to make an impact on the community through her professional and personal endeavors.

Joyce Aboussie was elected the first woman Chairperson of the ALSAC/St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital Board of Directors and Governors in 2006.
