The volume publishes Aramaic papyri and Aramaic and Phoenician ostraca found during excavations in the Sacred Animal Necropolis at North Saqqara between 1966 and 1975. It contextualises these with Semitic texts found previously at Saqqara and provides an archaeological background for the finds. The papyri deal with taxation; legal, judicial and commercial matters and some historical topics.
