Judith B. Sedaitis was born in the United States; the daughter of George Sedaitis and Emma (Teithes) Sedaitis.
Judith B. Sedaitis received a Bachelor of Arts and a Master of Arts degres from the University of Chicago. She also got a Doctor of Philosophy degree from Columbia University in 1994.
Judith Sedaitis began her career as a fellow of W. Averell Harriman Institute at Columbia University in 1991. From 1994 to 1997, she served as a research associate and associate director of Sloan Management Foundation Study on Outsourcing Computer Services at Stanford University. In 1997, Judith was appointed director of Eurasia Program at the Social Science Research Council. She also was a consultant to Helsinki Watch, the National Council of Churches and Freedom House.
From 2008 to 2015, Judith was an adjunct professor at the City University of New York. Between July 2008 and August 2017, she served as a professor at the School of Liberal Arts, Berkeley College. Since August 2014, Sedaitis has been working as an adjunct assistant professor at the New York City College of Technology.
Judith is a contributor to professional journals, including Organization Science, International Studies of Management & Organization, Technological Forecasting and Social Change and Contemporary Sociology. She edited several books and co-authored Lithuania: A Rebel Nation.
