Her first book, Two Fates, was a best-seller. She is also the author of the blog Woman and a Quarter. In 2014, Balan worked as the Creative Director at Raising iBrows, a digital media audience engagement company.
She pursued a bachelor"s degree in English Literature at Stella Maris, Chennai, India and worked at advertising agencies before becoming a full-time writer

She writes comedy across mediums and used to blog at Woman and a Quarter. There are three new novels scheduled for release in 2016.
