Background
Cho was born in Los Angeles, California, and is the daughter of Korean immigrants. Her mother is a nurse and her father worked for an aerospace company where his job relocation led the family to move to Arizona.

She graduated from Amherst College in 1996 with a degree in English, the University of California, Berkeley where she earned a masters degree in English literature, New York University"s dramatic writing program (Master of Fine Arts), and the Juilliard School where she was a Lila Acheson Wallace Playwriting Fellow.
Career
The Arizona desert is used as the setting for several of her plays. She has had five plays at South Coast Repertory. As a screenwriter, Cho has written for the television series Big Love and Fringe.
