During the Spanish-American War joined a unit under Mrs. Whitelaw Reid which included many of the nurses and doctors who had been to the Greco-Turko War.
During the World War served the military prisons, giving particular attention to Governor. Island, New York, where she made arrangements whereby the men might enjoy the recreation of music, also established a fund that made it possible for the military prisoners to visit their homes.
