Background
After earning his medical degree from the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Dr. Mitton completed his residency at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. He also holds a Master of Public Health from Harvard School of Public Health and completed an advanced post-doctoral fellowship in implementation science and health services research at Harvard Medical School. Dr. Mitton's research has been published in various academic journals.
Throughout his career, Dr. Mitton has worked in different clinical settings, including as a primary care provider at a community health center and an addiction medicine specialist at an academic quaternary care hospital. At CommonSpirit, he focuses on population health and clinical innovations, particularly in implementing integrated behavioral health and expanding access to evidence-based medications for addiction treatment.
