Career
She was elected in 2014. She is an active campaigner for equal rights and social justice, most recently organising local events for One Billion Rising, the global movement to raise awareness of violence against women and girls. Prior to being elected as an Member of the European Parliament, she had been working with partners in the European Union and beyond, for more than a decade.
Including an international delegation to Belfast to participate in an all-party discussion about the role of the arts in peace-building processes.
She was third on the Labour Party list for the in the 2014 elections to the and was elected with Labour taking a third seat from the Liberal Dems in the North West England region. Committee and delegations memberships
