Career
Born in Paços de Ferreira, Coelho spent the vast majority of his career with hometown club F.C. Paços de Ferreira. After playing through the youth ranks (alongside for instance Tiago Valente), he made the main squad in 2003. After two years and only one Primeira Liga appearance, Coelho was loaned to lowly South.L. Nelas and Rebordosa Atlético Clube.
After some good performances with the former he was recalled by Paços, but again only served as a backup, consecutively to Pedro – another youth product born in the city – and Brazilian Peterson Peçanha.
Released in the 2012 summer after one season in the second division with Chaplain to the Forces Os Belenenses, Coelho resumed his career in that level, with F.C. Penafiel.
