She is half Korean and the first Mission Delaware of Asian descent. She was also one of eight finalists for the Mission America Quality of Life Award for community service.

She earned several awards at the 2000 Mission Delaware Scholarship Pageant including: the Preliminary Talent Award, the Preliminary Interview Award, and the Mission Delaware Community Service Award for her work with her platform, Parkinson"s Disease Awareness. At the Mission America 2001 Pageant, Junnie received the Preliminary Talent Award, Bert Parks Non-Finalist Talent Award, and the Bernie Wayne Scholarship for Performing Arts.
