Born in Vladimir to a Russian father and a Pontic Greek mother, and lived since 2000 in Greece, Lodygin played for Skoda Xanthi, coming from the youth team He was then loaned at Eordaikos 2007 for the season 2010/2011, where he made 25 first team appearances (and 2 at the Greek Cup). He returned at Skoda Xanthi, he made his first appearance at the last fixture match against Ergotelis, and from the season 2012/2013 he is in the basic line-up.
In June 2013, Lodygin moved to Russia to play for Zenit Saint St. Petersburg for a fee of €800.000.
Lodygin represented Greece internationally on junior levels and he was called up to the main Greece squad in May 2013. He was called up again in August 2013, but he refused to report.
He made his debut for Russia on 19 November 2013 in a friendly against South of Korea. Igor Akinfeev played in goal for all of their matches in a group stage exit.
