Foreman, Jardine Dyeing and Finishing Company Ltd., Hong Kong, 1958-1959; assistant engineer, Compressive Shrinkers and Finishers Ltd., Hong Kong, 1960-1961; technical teacher department textile industries, Hong Kong Technology College, 1961-1967; education officer, Hong Kong Technology College, 1967-1972; principal lecturer, acting department head Institute Textiles and Clothing,, Hong Kong Polytechnic, 1972-1974; head, Hong Kong Polytechnic, since 1974; chairman division applied science and textiles, Hong Kong Polytechnic, 1986-1992; dean faculty applied science and textiles, Hong Kong Polytechnic, since 1992. Consultant in field; honorary professor Suzhou Institute Silk Textile Technology, People's Republic of China, 1985.
