Besides that, he has worked as a journalist also. Kabir Bakul joined The Daily Vorer Kagoj at 1993. Later on from the commencement of The Daily Prothom Alo (1998) he worked there.
At present, he is working in Maasranga Television as Head of Event and Planning.
He first wrote his song at 1994 in the film "Ogni Sontan". Foreign this song he was nominated for the Best Lyricist at the Bangladesh Film Director Samity Award.
