Background
Dr. Kailash Choudhary was born in Jodhpur, India on 11 January. He completed his School from Jodhpur followed by BSc and then MSc Botany, from Jai Narian Vyas University securing Gold Medal. He completed his Ph.D. degree in "Somatic Cell genetics and cloning in Acacia and Vigna Species". In mid-2004 he joined Lachoo Memorial College, Jodhpur where he continued to serve as Assistant Professor in the Department of Botany and Biotechnology up to 2012. At present, he is chairman of Academy for translational research (ATR) and Professor at Institute for Advanced Studies.
Dr. Choudhary has been the recipient of several honors and awards. For example, He secured All India rank 1 in the prestigious CSIR NET JRF exam of Country for 11 consecutive times. He also cleared GATE life sciences with top rank. He has cleared ARS-NET, ICMR-JRF and Rajasthan SET exams. He is imparting guidance to NET and GATE Lifesciences/Biotechnology aspirants from the last 16 years at IFAS Jodhpur.
He has published around 25 articles, reviews, book and conference chapters, including nearly 20 original research articles in National & International peer-reviewed Journals. Many scholars have obtained a Ph.D. degree under his guidance. His areas of interest include Conservation Biology, Plant Physiology & Biotechnology especially Plant Tissue Culture, Nano-biotechnology, and Science & Society Related Programmes in the context of the Indian Thar Desert Region.
