He represents Modern Language Association of Shahpura, Bhilwara constituency of Rajasthan in 14th Rajasthan Legislative Assembly & Ex-Member of Parliament Tonk constituency of Rajasthan in 14th Lok Sabha. He was minister of state for social justice and empowerment from 2003 to 2004. He was imprisoned in emergency in 1975 and released in 1977.
