He graduated from Ohio State University (1908).
Kakuichiro Takahashi entered Nihon Glass Industry Company (1916) and became chief of its Komubu (Maintenance Department). Appointed chief of Bottle Manufacturing Section and manager of Hodogaya Plant of Dai-Nippon (Great Japan) Beer Manufacturing Company (1934). Became managing director of the newly founded Nihon Glass Manufacturing Company (1936), and later was appointed senior managing director and then president (1946).
He became president of the newly established ShinNippon Glass Industry Company, daini kaisha (second company or successor) of Nihon Glass Manufacturing Company and continued as president after the name of that company was changed back to Nihon Glass Manufacturing Company (1950).
Served also as president of Chuka Jitsugyo Kaisha (China Business Company) and director of several other industrial companies.
