Background
The son of film actors Jayaram and Parvathy, Kalidas made his debut with the Malayalam film Kochu Kochu Santhoshangal (2000) at the age of 7. Kalidas was born to actors Jayaram and Parvathy.

He has a younger sister Malavika Jayaram. He had his primary education till tenth from Padma Seshadri Bala Bhavan, Chennai and plus two from Choice School, Cochin, Kerala. He received his bachelor"s degree in Visual Communication from Loyola College, Chennai.
Kalidas has proved himself as a talented actor from his performances as a child artist itself.
He dubbed for a child artist who played the childhood role for Mukesh in Malayalam movie Friends in 1999. The interesting part is that in both the films, he played as Jayaram"s son.
In the year 2014, his mimicry performance imitating Surya, Ajith and Vijay at the 8th Vijay became a huge hit and he was reportedly approached by a line of ace directors to cast him as the lead hero for their upcoming projects. But Kalidas instead chose to act as the lead hero for Balaji Tharaneetharan"s second directorial venture Oru Pakka Kathai.
Begun in 2014, the film is slated for a 2016 release.
He also starred in the Cadbury Milk Bubbly advertisement which became a huge success among young fans. Kalidas is currently shooting for his second tamil film called Meen Kuzhambum Mann Paanaiyum.
