Career
It is said that some fishermen who drifted to Tosa from Kii Province (Wakayama Prefecture) taught him the art (about 1500). Later Sanosuke, a descendant of his, improved the process during the Empo Era from 1673 to 1680, by making it boneless, shiny and conditioning it for long preservation.
