President, Arab Air Carriers Organization (AACO) 1971. Member of Executive Committee of IATA since 1974. Played an active part in establishing the Saudi Civil Aviation Department, later Saudia.
Set up Marine and Meteorological Observation Centres and Telecommunication Sections. Started the first Technical Training Institute in the Arab world for traffic controllers, radio operators, meteorological observers and radio maintenance technicians. Participated in the creation of an Air Cadet Training Centre.
Participated in numerous Civil Aviation Conferences, and was elected Vice-Chairman of an ICAO Conference in Montreal. Under his leadership Saudia concluded the purchase of four Boeing jets in 1962, thus becoming the first airline in the Middle East to fly the big jets.
