Education
Adopted as son by Kankai Araki in his infancy and studied under his tutorship. Seigai Sakurama, too, was his teacher.
Career
After the Meiji Restoration (1868), he had the honor of painting on cedarboard screens in the Imperial Palace. Left a lot of masterpieces.
