Kanshichi Seikai was a Japanese lacquerware artisan in the Edo Period. He originated the art of making lacquerware with flowery designs.

Kanshichi Seikai originated the art of making lacquerware with flowery designs by using a specially designed brush. He was good especially at making wave-like patterns which the people called Seikaiha, or waves of Seikai, after his name. Seikaiha patterns were used widely on various utensils.
He had many friends among painters and haiku poets.
