Karan received education at "Birla Vidya Mandir" in Nainital and graduated from "Allahabad University".
He had a modest upbringing in a beautiful house filled with four siblings. Acting was always a passion since childhood and Karan got a role in the telly film "Amrut Kumbh" where he played the role of ‘Lakshmana’. He then joined the National School Of Drama (NSD) repertory, after which he worked in the repertory for quite some time before moving to Mumbai.
In Mumbai, Karan joined the theatre group "Ekjute", and stayed very active on the theatre scene till he got his first break in television in "Chittod Ki Rani Padmini Ka Johur".
He also worked for several Ad Films with brands such as "Donear Suitings", "GT Castrol Oil", "State Bank of India", et cetera His first Bollywood movie was "Gunday", followed by "Kick", where his action scenes were appreciated.
But he truly received recognition for his spy-act in "Baby". Recently, he had a cameo in Madhur Bhandarkar"s "Calendar Girls".
Following his success, he has received many offers but prefers to take on only truly challenging roles even if the part is small.
Anand has also acted in movies in different languages, such as "Kable Aai Bahar" (Bhojpuri) and "Ami Shubhash Bolchi" (Bengali).
Aanand has always been a fitness enthusiast and participated in the "All India Shot Play" competition at the "National Level". He has also won many awards as the "Manitoba of the Match" for cricket on a collegiate level He is a "Black Belt" holder in "Hapkido", and loves learning new martial art forms. Karan was awarded by the ‘Bihar Governor’ for his acting in "Kabhi Toh Milke Sab Bolo" and also by ‘Lions Club’ for Best television Actor. Recently, he received a memento by the Goa Governor - "Mridula Sinha" for producing the television Series ‘Ek Lakshya’.
