Foreign college, he chose Montana and coach Wayne Tinkle. As a freshman, started 18 games and averaged 8.1 points and 4.8 rebounds per game as the Grizzlies went to the 2011 College Basketball Invitational. As a sophomore in 2011-2012, Jamar became one of the top players in the Big Sky Conference.
He increased his output to 13.6 points, 5.6 rebounds and 3.8 assists per game.
Jamar made the all conference team and led the Grizzlies to the National Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament. In his junior season, Jamar led the Grizzlies to 25 wins and a second straight National Collegiate Athletic Association Tournament appearance.
He averaged 14.2 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4 assists per game.
