The Firm"s practice was established in 1949 and from the outset has concentrated in general litigation in various fields. Over recent years, the practice has expanded with a strong emphasis on employment discrimination. The Firm represents employees asserting such claims and is also involved, through litigation, arbitration and mediation with a wide range of other employment issues.
The firm has litigated numerous first impression cases in this area, particularly under the New York State and City Human Rights Laws, and represented the Plaintiff in the frequently cited Thoreson v.
Penthouse. The Firm has also counselled employers seeking to establish sexual harassment and other employment policies, and to that end has created an employee handbook. The Firm also practices in the area of general and commercial litigation, serves as general corporate counsel to various companies, and engages in transactional law.
