Background

Karl Ludwig Blum was born in 1786 in Berlin, Germany.

Education

He was a pupil of H. Grossi in Berlin, also a pupil of A. Hiller in Konigsberg and Salieri in Vienna.

Career

He worked as chamber-musician at Prussian court in 1820. Then as a stage-manager at the Berlin Opera n 1822.

Achievements

He produced nearly 30 operas, ballets, vaudevilles and was the first to bring the vaudeville on the Germanstage. His vocal and instrumental music is forgotten.
