Education
Karl Friedrich left his work to study at the Stuttgart Technology University of Applied Sciences - Hochschule für Technik, Stuttgart (1959-1961). After working in Agfa-Gevaert, studied art history at Cologne University and photography at the High School for Photography in Cologne (1963-1965).
Career
Karl Friedrich worked in the industry as an apprentice machinist (1957-1959). He worked for Agfa-Gevaert in Leverkusen (1962), then studied at universities. A collector of photographs and historical material about photographers since 1966, Karl Friedrich founded the first gallery of photography in Germany, Galerie Wilde, in 1972. He has been producing photographic portfolios since 1974.
