Karp TROKHIMENKO, USSR Artist and painter; Professor, Kiev Art Institute; Popular Artist of Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic since 1942. Order of Red Banner of Labor, 1960; Ukrainia Minister of Culture’s Dipl, of Honor, 1958.
TROKHIMENKO, Karp was born in 1885 in village Sushchany, Kiev Guberniya.
During 1890’s at Rodzin’s painting studio and N. Murashko’s School of Art. 1902-1905 at Kiev School of Art. 1906-1907 Moscow School of Painting, Sculpture and Architecture.
1910-1916 St. Petersburg Academy, of Arts.
During World War I did drawings on Western and Caucasian fronts. 1926-1931 instructor, Industry Arts Trade-Union School, Kiev. 1926 Executive Secretary, Association, of Artists of Red Ukrainia.
During World War II senior associate, Institute of History, of Art, Ukrainia Academy of Sciences, which was evacuated to Ufa. 1943-1945 in Moscow; since 1946 in Kiev.
