Kate Needham

Kate Needham was born on November 8, 1962, in United Kingdom. She is a daughter of Michael Needham, a farmer, and Patricia Needham (maiden name Hill), an occupational therapist.

Education

Kate Needham received her Bachelor of Arts with honors from the University of Exeter in 1985.

Career

Kate Needham started her career in 1986 as an editor of trade newspapers and magazines. The following year, she found a job of an account executive at Bright Williamson Public Relations where she worked till 1988. From 1988 to 1990, Needham edited a travel magazine ‘Adventurers Ltd.’

At the beginning of the 1990s, Kate Needham started her collaboration with Usborne Publishing as an editor. The first books for children she created were issued by Usborne. It was a great experience in producing simple attractive books about quite complex subjects, like ‘Time Trekkers’ series.

After working in Usborne Publishing, Kate Needham became a freelance writer.
