In 1921, graduated from Law Department of Tokyo University.
In 1921, joined the Bank of Japan. Became vice-manager of the Osaka branch in 1937; manager of Hiroshima branch from 1940; resigned from Bank of Japan in 1941. Became managing director of Sanwa Trust Company in April 1941; auditor in August 1941; resigned from the same bank in May 1945. Became director and president of Bank of Tokyo in December 1946.; director of Tokyo Bank Association - 1947; director of National Federation of Bankers' Associations - 1948 ; president of Tokyo Bankers' Associations - 1949; president of National Federation of Bankers' Associations - 1949. Resigned as president of Bank of Tokyo in 1950 ; resigned as president of Tokyo Bankers' Associations in 1952. Served as member of Personnel Affairs Council of Foreign Office from April 1952 to April 1954. In October 1954 made official inspection tour of Central and Near East.
