Career
McKinnon began his professional career with Bakewell Topp XX in the Guyana National Football League, but was without a club for several years after the league went on hiatus, until joining Trinidadian team North East Stars in 2004. He went on to play seven seasons in the TT Pro League, spending time with Caledonia American Institute of Architects, Joe Public and Tobago United. McKinnon joined Antigua Barracuda Football Club in the USL Professional Division for the 2011 season.
He played in two of Guyana"s qualification games for the 2006, and again in qualification for the 2010.
