Kord, Kazimierz was born on November 18, 1930 in Pogorze Cieszyn, Poland. Son of Wojciech and Antonina (Krawczyk) Kord.

Education

Piano with Vladimir Nilsen, Conservatoire, Leningrad, Union of the Soviet Socialist Republics, 1955. Conducting with Artur Malawski, State Academy of Music, Cracow, Poland, 1960.

Career

Director, artistic director City Museum Theatre, Cracow, 1962-1969, Warsaw (Poland) Philharmonic, 1977. Artistic director Polish Radio and television Symphony Orchestra, Katowice, Poland, 1969-1973. Director, conductor Sudwestfunk Radio Symphony Orchestra, Baden-Baden, Federal Republic of Germany, since 1980.

Recorded a number of LP's for Decca with New Philharmonia and The Royal Philharmonic Orchestras.
