1904-1906 worked at an enameling plant in Warsaw. 1904-1906 also member, Polish Socialist Party. 1905 took active part in revol.
May 1906 involved in attempted assassination of governor-general of Warsaw and sentenced to 20 years at hard labor. Served 11 years, six of them in chains. 1917 freed during February Revol.
From July 1917 in Red Guard. Took part in October Revol in Ukraine and fought against Germans. From 1918 in Red Army.
1918-1920 commanded a platoon, company and battalion before being appointed deputy commander, 1st Bogun Regiment 1920-1922 commander, 130th Bogun Brigade. 1922-1937 assistant commander, 44th Kiev Rifle Division.
Commander, 99th Rifle Division, 17th Rifle Corps. Deputy commander, Khar’kov Military district. November 1937 arrested by State Security organs.
