Takimura Kazuo was born on February 25, 1908 in Tokyo, Japan.
Takimura joined the P.C.L. Studios (predecessor of Toho Movie Company) and produced comedies starring Entatsu, Achako, Enoken and Roppa.
He also worked on films by major directors Kenji Mizoguchi, Yasujirō Ozu, and Kon Ichikawa, such as Ugetsu Monogatari (1953), Floating Weeds (1959) and the documentary Tokyo Olympiad (1965) respectively. Takimura produced "China Night" and "The Moon in Shanghai.
After the war, he made "The Home Run King," Golcetsu Ichidai Otoko (Life of a Gallant) and Watashi-no Subete (All of Me).
