He was most recently a member for the Calgary Stampeders of the Canadian Football League. In his senior year (1997) he caught a school record 79 passes for 1,098 yards and 17 touchdowns. He accepted a scholarship from Ohio State University, where he continued to excel as a wide receiver and kick returner.
In 1999, he set a new school record for average yards on kickoff returns with 22.9.
NFL
Rambo was selected by the Oakland Raiders in the seventh round (229th overall) of the 2001 NFL Draft. He was waived on August 28.
He signed with the Dallas Cowboys as a free agent on September 4, 2001. He played with the Cowboys for two seasons as a wide receiver and return specialist.
He was released on August 31, 2003.
The New York Jets signed him to a contract in December 9, 2003, but he was not utilized in games. He was limited with a hamstring injury in training camp and was cut on September 4, 2004. Canadian Football League
Rambo signed a contract with the Calgary Stampeders on May 29, 2005.
He finished third on the team in receiving with 789 yards in his first year.
He performed admirably in 2006 for the Stampeders. Finishing fourth on the team in receiving with 704 yards.
In 2007, he finished third on the team with 983 yards receiving and tied with teammate Jeremaine Copeland and Doctorate.J. Flick for first in the league in receiving touchdowns with 10. The 2008 season saw Rambo lead the league in the regular season in total receiving yards with 1,473, helping his team reach the Western Final playoff game.
On January 29, 2010, Rambo signed a contract extension to remain with the Stampeders.
Rambo was released by the Stampeders on June 23, 2012, after seven seasons with the team, due to an achilles tendon injury. On August 21, 2012, Rambo was added to the Toronto Argonauts" practice roster. After a partial season with the Argonauts, he was released on February 5, 2013.
On September 4, 2015, the Calgary signed Rambo to a one-day contract, allowing him to retire as a Stampeder.
